LAFAYETTE – A Pollock man alleges that he was injured because of a defective drywall cart.

Darryl Dupuy filed a complaint on May 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Adapa Inc. alleging manufacture of a defectively designed drywall cart.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 10, 2016, he sustained severe and permanent injuries when a drywall cart and the wallboard load rolled, tipped, shifted and fell onto him. The plaintiff alleges he incurred medical bills and expenses, loss of earnings and will continue to suffer physical impairment and loss of enjoyment of life. The plaintiff holds Adapa Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently developed and manufactured the defective drywall cart that caused plaintiff's injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in plaintiff's favor in the amount of $3 million, all cost of these proceedings and all general and equitable relief. He is represented by P. Craig Morrow, Richard T. Haik Sr. and Richard T. Haik Jr. of Morrow, Morrow, Ryan, Bassett & Haik in Opelousas and Brandon J. Scott of Roy & Scott LLC in Marksville.
