Orleans Parish resident allegedly owes almost $100,000 on credit card

NEW ORLEANS – American Express is seeking nearly $100,000 from an Orleans Parish resident.

American Express Centurion Bank filed a lawsuit May 8 against James Hyland in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due on an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an American Express credit card. The suit states that the defendant failed to pay off the balance of $98,708.07.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Jason Olivier of The DeGrasse Law Firm PC in Mandeville.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
