Orleans Parish man claims he was injured when ladder broke while installing molding

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish man is seeking damages, claiming that a broken ladder caused him injury.

Tyrone Theophile filed a lawsuit May 17 against Charles T. Leach and Deborah Leach in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was hired by the defendants to complete a molding installation job in the defendant's home in New Orleans. The suit states that the defendants provided the plaintiff with a broken ladder and that the plaintiff fell when the ladder gave way.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of the plaintiff, failing to provide the plaintiff with a properly functioning ladder and failing to warn of the potential for danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael D. Riley in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
