NEW ORLEANS – A seaman alleges he was injured twice in one year while working aboard a vessel.

Corey Alexander filed a complaint on May 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against CHS Inc. of Minnesota alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 7, 2016, and Aug. 26, 2016, the plaintiff sustained severe injuries while working on the defendant's vessel the M/V Elizabeth Ann.

The plaintiff holds CHS Inc. of Minnesota responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to give proper and appropriate warnings and to adequately plan ongoing operation at the time of the incidents and failed to provide the plaintiff with a safe place to work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages for a total sum of $2.5 million and all other general, equitable maritime relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Berney L. Strauss and Rhett E. King of Strauss & King APLC in New Orleans.
