Man from Puerto Rico allegedly slipped and fell Outlet Collection at Riverwalk

NEW ORLEANS – A man from San Juan, Puerto Rico, is seeking damages after he slipped and fell at a mall.

Hery Figueroa filed a lawsuit May 5 against The Outlet Collection at Riverwalk, Howard Hughes Corp., Interstate Cleaning Corp. and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at the defendant's property on June 2, 2016, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the defendant was caused to slip and fall on a substance that had been left on the ground. The plaintiff allegedly sustained injuries to his lower and upper back, neck and right arm.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to clean up the mess, failing to warn of the danger, failing to properly manage the premises.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. He is represented by attorney Robert J. Caluda of The Caluda Law Firm in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Piper D. Griffin.
