Jefferson Parish woman seeking damages following a trip and fall over slab of concrete

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages following a trip and fall.

Sandra B. Oster filed a suit May 18 against Jefferson Parish, Progressive Waste Solutions of Louisiana Inc. and Entergy Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the 4600 block of Carthage St., Metairie. The suit states that employees of Progressive Waste struck an electric pole owned by Entergy. The suit states that the pole then resulted in uneven concrete, which the plaintiff tripped and fell on while walking.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to see the potential for danger, failing to prevent such an incident from occurring and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. She is represented by J. Mokax Jordan Jr. and Victor R. A. Ashy in Lafayette.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
