Allstate seeks more than $12,000 for structural damages

NEW ORLEANS – An insurance company is seeking damages for a client whose property has suffered substantial structural damages. 

Allstate Insurance Co., as subrogee of Harry Cantrell Law Firm, filed a lawsuit May 24 against Woodward Design+Build LLC and REJV8 Baronne LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that structural damages stemming from construction at the site at 311 Baronne St., New Orleans, have caused the plaintiff damages. The plaintiff has made more than $12,000 in payments, but the defendant has failed to remedy their issues.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract by failing to ensure workmanlike actions.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Charles D. Marshall III of Chaffe McCall LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
