Louisiana State claims Orleans Parish resident owes $4,000 for promissory note

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking $4,000 from an Orleans Parish resident.

 The Louisiana University system board of supervisors through Louisiana State University filed a lawsuit May 30 against Courtney Elizabeth Scanlan in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account on a promissory note.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking payment of sums due in the amount of $4,000.

The defendant is accused of sums due to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Wendy Ramnarine of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
