Orleans Parish woman seeks damages for slip and fall at a Wal-Mart store

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is seeking damages for a slip and fall in Wal-Mart.

Tracy Patterson filed a lawsuit June 1 against Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's property at 4001 Behrman Place in Orleans Parish on June 9, 2016, when the incident took place. The suit states that the plaintiff slipped and fell on a substance that had been left on the ground, which caused injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to place the appropriate signage, failing to clean up the mess and negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Troy Kellen in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
