GRETNA – A Plaquemines Parish man claims that he was choked and beaten by a Jefferson Parish man.

Lawrence A. Giambelluca filed a suit June 13 against Aaron T. Chamberlain and ABC Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging assault and battery.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was allegedly attacked by the defendant on June 27, 2016. The suit states that the defendant punched the plaintiff in the head with a garden tool and then grabbed the plaintiff's tie, began choking him and threatened to kill him. The plaintiff was caused to suffer from loss of hearing and damage to his ability to maintain balance.

The defendant is accused of assault and battery against the plaintiff.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Kenneth E. Pickering of Pickering & Cotogno in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
