Orleans Parish resident allegedly owes University of New Orleans almost $2,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking nearly $2,000 from an Orleans Parish resident.

University of Louisiana system board of supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit June 16 against Chekaris Rockelle Theard in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account for the balance of $1,823.19. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay back the sums owed.

The defendant is accused of sums due on a note.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Anthony D. Winters of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge Sidney H. Cates IV.
