Medical malpractice 09

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish couple alleges that a vessel's failure to provide a ladder free of defects caused injuries to the husband.

Jason Glago and Adriana Glago filed a complaint on June 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Fiona Shipping Co. PTE LTD and the M/V Patience Lake alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 17, 2016, Jason Glago was attempting to disembark from the M/V Patience Lake when the ladder failed and gave way, causing him to fall more than 30 feet to the concrete. He alleges he suffered serious and disabling injuries to his leg, neck, head and other parts of his body. Adriana Glago alleges she suffered loss of consortium, society and support of her husband.

The plaintiffs holds Fiona Shipping Co. PTE LTD and the M/V Patience Lake responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide equipment that was reasonably safe and free of defects and failed to warn plaintiff of the defect in the subject ladder.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek damages in the amount of $3.5 million, plus interest, costs of suit and all other just and equitable relief. They are represented by Conrad S.P. Williams III and Meredith R. Durham of Williams Law Group LLC in New Orleans and Mark P. Glago, Jatavian L. Williams and Katie E. May of The Glago Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.
