Former Monster Energy Co. employee alleges that she was subjected to hostile work environment

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman alleges that she was subjected to sexual harassment at her former New Orleans workplace.

Page Zeringue filed a complaint on June 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Monster Energy Co. Inc. alleging that the beverage company violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant in 2008. She alleges that she was discriminated against because of her gender and was subjected to sexual harassment and a hostile work environment. The suit states she was terminated in October 2015.

The plaintiff holds Monster Energy Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against her when she reported the unwelcome sexual advances to defendant's human resources department.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive remedies as well as attorney's fees and costs and such further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Wiley J. Beevers, Shayna Beevers Morvant and Steven M. Mauterer of Beevers & Beevers LLP in Gretna.
