Lafourche Parish individual alleges Deepwater Horizon spill caused economic damages

NEW ORLEANS – An individual employed by Redfish Rental Inc. alleges that he has sustained economic losses as a result of the Deepwater Horizon spill.

Warren Michel Jr. filed a complaint on June 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against BP Exploration & Production Inc., BP America Production Co. and BP PLC citing the Oil Pollution Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill caused by defendants on April 20, 2010, he has suffered economic injury, damage and/or losses. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, punitive and exemplary damages; interest; attorney's fees; costs of litigation and all further relief as the court deems just and appropriate. He is represented by Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Francis I. Spagnoletti of Spagnoletti & Co. in Houston.
