NEW ORLEANS – A Jones Act seaman alleges that he was injured while working aboard a vessel.
Tyler J. Verdin filed a complaint on June 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Wood Towing LLC alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 23, he was employed by defendant as a Jones Act seaman aboard the M/V Donald Wood when he experienced an accident that resulted in serious painful injuries to his back and other parts of his body. The plaintiff holds Wood Towing LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train and supervise him and failed to provide adequate equipment and sufficient personnel for the job.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages to which he is entitled to recover, with legal interest, costs, expert fees, maintenance and cure benefits and for all other general and equitable relief.
