NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages after a contractor allegedly failed to properly complete work on her home.
Pastor Marie Ortiz filed a lawsuit June 23 against Joseph Aluise, Crescent Foundation and Mike's Hardware in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the plaintiff's property. The suit states that the defendant, acting as a contractor, failed to perform the work as it should have been completed and that the defendant's negligence resulted in substantial damage to the plaintiff's home.
The defendant is accused of negligence, breach of contract and failing to perform work in a workmanlike manner.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is representing herself.
The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
