NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured in a slip and fall at a Walgreens.
Melissa L. Payne filed a lawsuit July 3 against Walgreen Louisiana Co. Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place June 20. The suit states that the defendant failed to clean the floors of the property at 900 Canal St., New Orleans, and the plaintiff was slipped and fell on the terrazzo floor, which was wet from rain.
The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to clean up the mess, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence on the defendant's part.
The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Charles P. Ciaccio of the Law Offices of Frank J. D'Amico in New Orleans.
The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
