University of Louisiana seeks over $8,000 from Orleans Parish resident

NEW ORLEANS – A university claims that they are owed over $8,000 from a former student.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a lawsuit July 5 against Quiane D. Collins of Orleans Parish in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account with the balance of $8,057.70.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
