Frenchmen Street Entertainment LLC employee allegedly attacked an individual accused of theft

NEW ORLEANS — A man claims that he was attacked by an individual who accused him of theft.

Jesse Simpson filed a lawsuit July 5 against Frenchmen Street Entertainment LLC and its employee Kelly White Jenkins in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident which took place on July 9, 2016. He claims that when he was using an ATM machine, Jenkins approached him, accused him of stealing his electronic tablet and tried to take his tablet. The plaintiff allegedly fell to the ground and was restrained without proper cause by Jenkins and another Frenchmen Street Entertainment employee. 

Simpson alleges that he sustained injuries to his neck, back, hands, knees and chest, and he holds the defendants responsible for injuring him and falsely accusing him of theft.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Corey E. Dunbar of Pivach, Pivach, Hufft, Thriffiley & Dunbar LLC in Belle Chasse.
