University of Louisiana at Lafayette claims woman owes over $5,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university claims it is owed more than $5,000.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of Louisiana at Lafayette filed a lawsuit July 5 against Bri-Juhn Bonner and Premium Parking Service LLC as garnishee in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging sums due.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an unpaid balance of $2,837.10. The suit states that the plaintiff has reason to believe that the defendant is owed sums by the garnishee. With interest, court costs and related fees, the total owed to the plaintiff is $5,418.74 as of June 29, the complaint states.

The defendant is accused of failing to pay the sums due.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
