AT&T claims Cable Man, S&S Drilling damaged its underground cables

NEW ORLEANS – AT&T is seeking compensation for underground cable damages.

Bellsouth Telecommunications LLC, doing business as AT&T Louisiana, filed a lawsuit against Cable Man Inc. and S&S Drilling Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 9, the plaintiff found damage had been done to its underground cables. The suit states that the defendant was responsible for the damages sustained.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to ensure that the area was safe for drilling, failing to take the necessary precautions and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael B. Alker of Sutton, Alker & Rather LLC in Mandeville.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
