Orleans Parish woman claims Dollar General failed to clean up spill, resulting in fall

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims she slipped and fell on wet floor at a Dollar General.

Pamela Burnett filed a lawsuit against Dollar General Corp. and Dollar General Market, located at 2001 St. Bernard Ave., New Orleans in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Aug. 7, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was slipped and fell in a puddle of liquid that was on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to warn of the danger, failing to clean up the mess and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Michael D. Riley in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
