Woman claims she slipped on fruit left on floor at New Orleans Walmart

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she slipped and fell on fruit that was left on the ground at a Walmart store.

Lois Morgan filed a lawsuit against Walmart Stores Inc., and/or Walmart Louisiana LLC, doing business as Walmart Supercenter Store #912, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Aug. 9, 2016, at the Walmart Supercenter at 6000 Bullard Ave., New Orleans. The plaintiff was allegedly slipped on a crushed grape that had been left on the ground and fell. The defendants are accused of failing to clean up or warn of the hazard.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys Mark A. Delphin and Arthur J. O'Keefe of Delphin Law Offices in Lake Charles.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
