Orleans Parish woman claims allergic reaction to hair dye caused face to swell

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman is seeking damages from a beauty supply store she claims was negligent.

Diamond Butler filed a lawsuit against Hoyu Company Ltd., All Plus Beauty World LLC, John or Jane Doe (manager, All Plus Beauty World), XYZ123 Insurance Co. and ABC123 Insurance Co in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff bought hair dye July 16, 2016, from the defendant's 3640 Macarthur Blvd., New Orleans location. The suit states that the plaintiff had an allergic reaction when she applied the hair dye. She claims she was required to seek medical help when her face and head began to swell.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to properly warn the plaintiff, failing to take necessary precautions and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Keith A. Sanchez Sr., of the Law Firm of Keith A. Sanchez Sr., LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
