Jefferson Parish woman says she was injured after tripping over object

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish woman is seeking damages for a trip and fall.

Thelma Talavera filed a lawsuit against USAA Casualty Insurance Co., James M. Belt and Marlene Aymone in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the defendant's property at 4043 S. Inwood Ave., New Orleans. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when she fell over an object that had been left in her way.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to maintain the property in a reasonably safe manner, failing to warn of the danger and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Carlos A. Ramirez of Irpino, Avia & Hawkins Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
