Man claims Walgreens gave him incorrect prescription

GRETNA – A man claims that an incorrect prescription caused him to be hospitalized.

Caliste Lirette filed a suit against Walgreen Louisiana Co. Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Aug. 1, 2016, at a Walgreens in Harvey. The suit states the defendant gave the plaintiff the wrong prescription. The medication that he was given caused low blood pressure and required him to go to the emergency room.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to give the plaintiff the appropriate prescription or appropriate instructions and failing to take precautions to prevent such an incident.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Mark A Vicknair in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
