Jefferson Parish resident blames Walmart for slip and fall

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish resident is seeking damages for a slip and fall in a Walmart.

Latroxy Fournette filed a suit against Walmart Stores Inc., doing business as Walmart Neighborhood Market, and XYZ Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging sums due.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Sept. 6, 2016, at the Walmart at 3520 Williams Blvd., Kenner. The suit states that the plaintiff was on the beverage aisle when she was slipped and fell on a substance that had been left on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to clean up the mess or warn of the danger.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Meagan Smith of Miguel A. Elias in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
