Nicholls State claims student owes more than $6,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for sums due.

University of Louisiana System board of supervisors through Nicholls State University filed a lawsuit against Daija N. Gautreaux in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account with the balance of $6,206.17 plus interest for classes taken in spring of 2016. The defendant has allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Amy D. Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
