Orleans Parish woman accuses contractor of failing to complete renovation

NEW ORLEANS – An Orleans Parish woman claims a contractor failed to complete work that was paid for.

Audrey Lee filed a lawsuit against Dennis M. Alexander and A.E.S. Inc in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff entered into a renovation agreement with the defendant for her home following Hurricane Katrina. The suit states that the plaintiff paid the defendant $68,000. The plaintiff also claims to have made payment to the defendant in five installments totaling $46,000. The suit states that defendant failed to complete the work, stopping on Aug. 30, 2007, and has only paid back $3,700.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract by failing to complete the work and failing to repay the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is representing herself.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
