Man accuses New Orleans Walmart of failing to clean up mess on floor

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims he was injured after slipping and falling in a Walmart.

Wallace Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against Walmart Louisiana LLC and Walmart Stores Inc. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place Aug. 28, 2016, at the Walmart at 4001 Behrman Highway in New Orleans. The suit states the plaintiff slipped and fell possible soap or shampoo on the ground that had not been cleaned up, causing injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to clean up the mess and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney David L. McBride of The McBride Law Firm in Gretna.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
