Woman claims she was injured when a Walmart inventory cart hit her

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after she was struck by a Walmart cart.

Jennifer McCormick filed a suit against Walmart Louisiana LLC, ABC Insurance Co., Jane Doe (employee) and Claims Management Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place at the Walmart at 4810 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured when a Walmart employee pushed an inventory cart into the plaintiff, causing the plaintiff to be thrown forward. The cart was overstocked and therefore blocked the employee's visibility of the plaintiff, the complaint states.

The defendant is accused of negligence by failing to take the proper care and keep a lookout and overall negligence of management.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Beevers & Beevers LLP.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
