Orleans Parish resident accused of owing university over $12,000

NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking more than $1,200 from an Orleans Parish resident.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit against Faisal Hameed in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking payment tuition and fees from the fall 2011 and 2013 semesters. The suit states that the defendant is indebted to the plaintiff for $1,266.45 plus interest.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Amy D. Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
