Orleans Parish resident accused of owing nearly $1,000 to community college

NEW ORLEANS – A community college is seeking nearly $1,000 from an Orleans Parish resident.

Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a lawsuit against Lashawn Knight Johnson in Orleans Parish Civil District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking payment in the balance of $946. The suit states that the defendant has failed to pay for tuition or fees.

The defendant is accused of having an open account.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Amy D. Richard of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
