University of New Orleans seeks more than $8,500 from former student

GRETNA – A university is seeking over $8,500.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit against Nydia Tiara Crockett in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking payment of $8,700.25 plus interest, which the defendant incurred while attending the university in the fall 2010 semester.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge John J. Molaison Jr.
