University accuses Jefferson Parish woman of failing to pay for fall 2013 semester

GRETNA – A university is seeking more than $3,000 from a student who is accused of failing to pay the entire balance of attending the institution.

University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a suit against Ashley Marie Cleveland in the 24th Judicial District Court, alleging an open account.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking payment of $3,423 plus interest, claiming that the defendant, a Jefferson Parish resident, has failed to pay for attending the institution in the fall 2013 semester.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
