The State of Louisiana is seeking damages for sums owed

NEW ORLEANS — The State of Louisiana is seeking damages for an open account on a government grant.

The State of Louisiana Division of Administration's Office of Community Development-Disaster Recovery Unit filed a lawsuit on Sept. 28 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Linda A. Miller, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an open account, claiming that the defendant was given a grant through a government grant program. The suit claims that the defendant has failed to pay back the balance of $141,950.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John C. Walsh of Shows, Cali & Walsh LLP in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Nakisha Ervin-Knott.
