NEW ORLEANS – A university is seeking damages for sums due on an open account.

The University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors through the University of New Orleans filed a lawsuit on Sept. 20 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Cheikh Dioume, alleging an open account.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for sums due on an open account in the balance of $2,713.78 plus interest, claiming that the defendant failed to pay off sums accumulated while attending the university.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
