A woman claims that she fell down some steps due to lack of lighting

NEW ORLEANS — A woman claims that she was injured when the lights allegedly went out and she allegedly fell down some steps.

Lela G. Rowan filed a lawsuit on Oct. 9 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against ACV VII LLC and ABC Insurance Company, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place at 3700 Orleans Ave. in New Orleans. While the plaintiff was allegedly on the property on April 30, 2017, the lights allegedly went out and she allegedly was caused to fall due to the lack of lighting.

The defendants are accused of negligence due to allegedly failing to ensure that the lighting was operational and for allegedly failing to warn the plaintiff of the danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney James A. Cobb Jr. of Ajubita, Leftwich & Salzer LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
