Woman seeks damages after allegedly tripping and falling while leaving elevator

NEW ORLEANS — A woman claims that she was injured when she allegedly tripped and fell while exiting an elevator.

Sharon Silverman filed a lawsuit on Oct. 11 in Orleans Parish Civil District Court against Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide LLC d/b/a Westin Hotels & Resorts, a wholly owned subsidiary of Marriott International Inc.; Interstate Hotel Company; Starr Indemnity & Liability Company; Otis Elevator Company; and WNO Hotel Owner LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Oct. 20, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was allegedly injured when she allegedly tripped and fell while leaving an elevator.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Ramesh K. Reddy of Reddy Law Group in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
