New Orleans tenant claims she was injured falling on raw sewage

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured when she slipped and fell on raw sewage at her apartment complex.

Carla Taylor of New Orleans filed a lawsuit on Nov. 2 against 4254 Maple Leaf Drive LLC, doing business as Audobon Pointe of Algiers, and XYZ Insurance Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that she was exiting her apartment at 4240 Maple Leaf Drive, Apt. F in New Orleans on Nov. 4, 2016 when she was caused to slip and fall on raw sewage that had come from a pipe. The plaintiff allegedly was seriously injured.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to see the danger and address the issue, failing to manage the property properly, and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney John D. Sileo in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
