California woman blames Pontchartrain Hotel for injuries in fall

NEW ORLEANS – A woman who was vacationing in New Orleans alleges she was injured when she tripped on a piece of iron outside her hotel.

Elena Hehr, who is a resident of California, filed a lawsuit on Oct. 31 against Pontchartrain Hotel Inc., Aparium Hotel Group LLC, Federal Insurance Company, Chubb National Insurance Company and Chubb Indemnity Insurance Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at the Pontchartrain Hotel on St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans on February 26. The suit alleges the plaintiff tripped and fell on a piece of iron that was protruding from the ground outside of the hotel.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to warn of the danger or remedy the situation.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Chad D. Lenderman of Dudley, Derosier Injury Lawyers PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
