Woman claims she was injured when chair collapsed at Superdome

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was injured when a chair collapsed at the Louisiana Superdome.

Yolanda Stewart filed a lawsuit on Nov. 14 against the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District and SMG in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was a guest at the Superdome in New Orleans on Dec. 24, 2016 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when the chair she was sitting in collapsed.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the guests were safe and failing to warn them of dangers.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Shelley Hammond Provosty of Hammond Law Firm LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
