Woman alleges she fell on wet rug at Ideal Market

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims she was caused to slip and fall on a wet rug at a local market.

Mirna Enamarado Perdomo filed a lawsuit on Nov. 15 against 250 S. Broad Inc., doing business as Ideal Market No. 2, in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on March 31, 2017. The suit states that the plaintiff was at the market at 250 S. Broad St. in New Orleans when she was caused to slip and fall on a rug, which was soaked with rain water.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the premises were safe, failing to warn of hazards and overall negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Zachary R. Smith of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes LLP in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
