Contractor claims he was never paid for post-Katrina repairs

NEW ORLEANS – A man claims that he was never paid for renovation work he completed.

Robert E. Mauer filed a lawsuit on Nov. 17 against VTH Company LLC, E. Kenneth Wall and Mena McCarthy Wall in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place after Hurricane Katrina. The suit states that the defendants contracted the plaintiff to renovate a number of properties, which had been damaged by the storm. The plaintiff completed the work as outlined by the defendants, but alleges he was never paid.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney William R. Penton III in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
