Allegedly faulty wood floor installation leads to lawsuit

GRETNA — A Jefferson Parish homeowner claims that her wood floors were improperly installed.

Lindsey Koretzky filed a suit on Nov. 15 against Rachel Gniady Hurst, also known as Rachel Giady; Wood Floor Service LLC, also known as Wood Floor Service.com LLC; and ABC Insurance Company in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging breach of contract.

According to the claim, the plaintiff paid the defendant to complete a wood floor installation for the fee of $10,516.50 in February 2016. The suit alleges that after the floor was installed, it became clear that it had been put in improperly.

The defendants are accused of failing to deliver what they promised and negligence in completing the job poorly.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael J. Marsiglia of Berrigan, Litchfield LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
