GRETNA — A parent claims that a train fell on his daughter at a local elementary school.

DeRon Alexander, on behalf of his minor daughter, filed a suit on Nov. 18 against Vic A. Pitre Elementary School and Jefferson Parish School Board in the 24th Judicial District Court alleging negligence.

According to the claim, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Nov. 18, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff's daughter was a student at Vic A. Due to the alleged lack of skill of the employee, the train turned over on the plaintiff's daughter and caused severe injuries.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Bobbie C. Smith.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
