Fence at New Zion Baptist Church allegedly fell on man

NEW ORLEANS – A man is seeking damages, claiming that a church fence fell on him.

Dwayne Davenport filed a lawsuit on Oct. 20 against New Zion Baptist Church and XYZ Insurance Company in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that allegedly took place on Oct. 21, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was picking up garbage at the defendant's property when a fence collapsed on him and pinned him on the ground.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Roderick T. Morris in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge Robin M. Giarrusso.
