Dollar General accused of negligence in alleged slip and fall

NEW ORLEANS – A woman is seeking damages for an alleged slip and fall in a Dollar General store.

Carolyn Smith filed a lawsuit on Aug. 8 against Dolgencorp LLC, dba Dollar General Corporation; ABC Corporation; and XYZ Insurance Corporation in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims that while in the defendant's property on Aug. 18, 2016, she was injured when she slipped and fell on a plastic rug, which had been dangerously left on the floor.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney Allan Berger of Allan Berger & Associates PLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
