Man allegedly injured while building giraffe structure

NEW ORLEANS – A man allegedly was injured as a result of a dangerous work site.

Osman Javier Lopez Flores filed a lawsuit on Sept. 7 against Osman Construction LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on March 16. The suit states that the plaintiff was working at Hard Naq's Ironworks doing metal-related work for a structure that was supposed to hold giraffes. The suit states that the plaintiff was working on the structure when he fell 30 feet to the ground face first.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to ensure that the setting was safe and failing to warn of the danger.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorneys at Flanagan Partners LLP in New Orleans. 

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Cherrell S. Taplin.
