Man alleges City of New Orleans negligent in caring for sidewalk

NEW ORLEANS – A man alleges he was caused to fall when he stepped in a hole on a city sidewalk.

Robert C. Clotworthy filed a lawsuit on Sept. 14 against the City of New Orleans, M&M Family Holdings LLC and Willie's Chicken Shack LLC in Orleans Parish Civil District Court alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place on Sept. 15, 2016. The suit states that the plaintiff was walking on the Canal Street sidewalk when he stepped into a hole, causing him to trip and fall and be injured.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff seeks all reasonable damages, court costs, attorney fees and all appropriate relief. The plaintiff is represented by attorney David A. Abramson of Lewis, Kullman, Sterbcow & Abramson LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Ethel S. Julien.
